How I found my passion
Hi, my name is Soda. I was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. The people, the city, its history, and its architecture are all close to my heart. There is no other place my family would want to call home. My past work experiences and education include roles in teaching, business development, graphic design and marketing, which all drove me to my true calling of having a business of my own. I was fortunate enough to be offered the opportunity to enter the field of sleep medicine where I was introduced to a world that allowed me to not only pursue my love for education in new and exciting ways but also fulfilled my desire for serving my community.
I have spent the last 17 years passionately educating and supporting physician offices, community organizations, and hospitals to address the risks associated with undiagnosed medical sleep disorders and represented a center that provided diagnostic testing for them. What I found in my time in healthcare is that sleep challenges are most often tied to behavioral, and lifestyle choices that when continued over a period of time can manifest themselves into more serious health issues. Furthermore, that diagnostic testing leaves a void for those who are sleep-deprived but not positive for sleep-disordered breathing issues. Patients are often left feeling hopeless without a solution to their sleep problems and without a resource to find a customized plan that works for their individual needs. I saw the need to directly provide education to the community regarding strategies that embrace both the science and art of sleep for a holistic solution to their sleep challenges. Beyond my direct work in clinical sleep health education, I attend yearly sleep conferences and have completed several sleep certifications.
As a mom, I can also understand how disruptive sleep can affect everyone in your home and how frustrating it can be to get on track when you do not know where to start. I founded START WITH SLEEP to help support and provide education on how to get a good night’s sleep naturally and safely for anyone looking for guidance.
